I love clothes. I love fashion. But I did not think of myself working in retail. I love going to stores and going shopping but I don't really work with people very well given that I am a bit of a shy person.But I wanted to try a new experience and that new journey began when I worked at Old Navy. It was hard at first, there is a lot of ideal things to do but as time goes by it became a home to me. My co-workers and managers are amazing, folding and organizing clothes has gotten the better of me and working with people is easy peasy lemon squeezy as I get use to it. Even though I made a lot of mistakes, they help me grow into it and make the rest the best.

I always wanted my first job to work on fast food chains but second is not that bad. But it is also a first on food so maybe it's the same thing. Working in Pita Pit is a great experience for me because I get to prepare and cook food for people. I've always wanted to work on food industries because I know when I work to one it will help me grow and understand a lot of things about running a restaurant or a food chain. I don't even think about it as work, I think about it as a hobby and interest that I love to do and get paid for it. It's a win-win.

I joined This Way ahead program in March when I was in search for a job. This is a seminar where students like me are being taught about what to expect and do in the retail industry or in any job. Tomoko Kajiyama our coach help us a lot through the process on building a great resume and cover letter, test our interview skills, budgeting plans, schedules,Imessages, and supported us with everything we need to get a job. We also learned a lot on taxes.

I have a 10 hour volunteer experience in Pita Pit. I get to learn how to make Pita wraps, flat crisps, salad bowls and smoothies. It was a great experience and I came to love it and decided I will take the Job. Working on Pita Pit is really nice, I have cool co-workers and I get to do what I like doing.

I have a great experience working in the Library in JH. I get to help students by checking out books or Ipads for them. Organizing the learning commons, tidying up the books and shelving it to their designated places. Laminating things, making bookmarks and posters.

CIBC RUN for the Cure

I was a CIBC Run for the Cure Surrey Run Day Volunteer. We cleaned out tents, put everything back together and clean out the field.

We packed 225 bags with clothes, shoes and other things. We counted 3000 plus bottles.

Philippines

I volunteered twice to help the feed the children far from our town who does'nt have much support and source of food and clothes. I helped by donating clothes and food. We usually go there every year to provide all of those and some entertainment.
